Προσωπικό Προφίλ

Ο Ελευθέριος Κληρίδης είναι Επίκουρος Καθηγητής στη Συγκριτική Εκπαίδευση και την Ιστορία της Εκπαίδευσης στο Τμήμα Επιστημών της Αγωγής του Πανεπιστημίου Κύπρου. Σπούδασε στο UCL Institute of Education, London (MA και PhD στη Συγκριτική και Διεθνή Εκπαίδευση). Στο παρελθόν, εργάστηκε ως λέκτορας, ερευνητής και επισκέπτης καθηγητής στο UCL Institute of Education (Λονδίνο), στο Georg Eckert Institute for International Textbook Research (Γερμανία), στο American University of Beirut (Λίβανος), στο Collège de France (Παρίσι) και στο Ευρωπαϊκό Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου. Επίσης, έχει εργαστεί ως εμπειρογνώμονας για την Παγκόσμια Τράπεζα και την ΟΥΝΕΣΚΟ. Σήμερα, διατελεί γραμματέας της Συγκριτικής Παιδαγωγικής Εταιρείας της Ευρώπης και είναι Ερευνητικός Συνεργάτης του Πανεπιστημίου North-West της Νοτίου Αφρικής.

Profile Information

Assistant Professor in Comparative Education and History of Education, Secretary-Treasurer of the Comparative Education Society in Europe (CESE), and Honorary Research Fellow of North-West University, South Africa. His studies include an MA and a Ph.D. in Comparative and International Education (UCL Institute of Education, London). Before joining the University of Cyprus he worked at the UCL Institute of Education (UK), the Georg Eckert Institute for International Textbook Research (Germany), the American University of Beirut (Lebanon) and the European University of Cyprus. He also worked as visiting professor at the Collège de France in Paris and as a consultant for the World Bank and UNESCO.
Global governance in education, European education policy, educational transfer, colonialism and neo-colonialism, the discursive construction of identities and subjectivites, education in the Mediterranean and Southeast Europe, textbook theory and research, history of education in colonial Cyprus.
