Προσωπικό Προφίλ

Ο Δρ. Λουκάς Δημητρίου έχει ολοκληρώσει τις προπτυχιακές σπουδές του στη Σχολή Πολιτικών Μηχανικών του Εθνικού Μετσόβιου Πολυτεχνείου (ΕΜΠ). Κατόπιν απέκτησε Διδακτορικό Δίπλωμα από τον Τομέα Μεταφορών και Συγκοινωνιακής Υποδομής του ΕΜΠ σε θέματα βέλτιστου σχεδιασμού μεταφορικών συστημάτων. Κατά την περίοδο 2011-2013 υπήρξε Επίκουρος Καθηγητής στο Πανεπιστήμιο King Saud, Σχολή Πολιτικών Μηχανικών, Έδρα Prince Mohamed bin Naif Chair for Traffic Safety Research, στο Ριάντ της Σαουδικής Αραβίας. Την τρέχουσα περίοδο είναι Επίκουρος Καθηγητής στη Πολυτεχνική Σχολή του Πανεπιστημίου Κύπρου, στο Τμήμα Πολιτικών Μηχανικών και Μηχανικών Περιβάλλοντος, ενώ είναι επικεφαλής του Εργαστηρίου Συγκοινωνιακής Μηχανικής. Η ακαδημαϊκή και επαγγελματική δραστηριότητά του αφορά στη ποσοτική ανάλυση και σχεδιασμό συστημάτων της πολιτικής και συγκοινωνιακής υποδομής, την χρήση προωθημένων τεχνικών και μεθόδων για την βελτιστοποίηση της απόδοσής τους και την ανάπτυξη πλαισίων υποστήριξης αποφάσεων στο πεδίο αυτό.
