Dr Marios Mavros is Lecturer at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Cyprus since January 2020. Prior to his current appointment, he worked as consulting engineer in the engineering firm Simpson Gumpertz & Heger Inc. where he got involved in various projects including analysis, design and failure investigation of concrete and steel structures. Dr. Mavros obtained his diploma in civil engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). He holds a PhD and MSc in structural engineering from University of California, San Diego. Dr Mavros is licensed Professional Civil Engineer (P.E.) in the state of California, member of the Cyprus Scientific and Technical Chamber (ETEK)

The research interests of Dr. Mavros include areas of numerical methods for the analysis, design, and performance investigation of structures under dynamic or static loadings, earthquake design and analysis, and constitutive modeling for structural materials. | |
