Προσωπικό Προφίλ

 Ο Δρ. Παρασκευόπουλος Ευάγγελος ολοκλήρωσε τις βασικές και μεταπτυχιακές του σπουδές στο τμήμα Ψυχολογίας του Αριστοτέλειου Πανεπιστημίου Θεσσαλονίκης. Παράλληλα, σπούδασε ανώτερα θεωρητικά της μουσικής λαμβάνοντας τα πτυχία αρμονίας, αντίστιξης και φούγκας. Ακολούθως ολοκλήρωσε με διάκριση το διδακτορικό του στο Ινστιτούτο Βιομαγνητικής και Ανάλυσης Βιοσημάτων του Muenster της Γερμανίας με ειδίκευση στις γνωστικές νευροεπιστήμες και την μαγνητοεγκεφαλογραφία και επιβλέποντα τον καθηγητή Dr Christo Pantev. To 2011 έλαβε βραβείο για καλύτερη αναρτημένη εργασία στο συνέδριο “NeuroVisionen 8“της επιστημονικής εταιρίας NeuroNRW και μια μεταδιδακτορική υποτροφία από το ΑΠΘ (αριστεία). Επίσης, το 2017 έλαβε μεταδιδακτορική υποτροφία από το Ίδρυμα Κρατικών Υποτροφιών της Ελλάδας και το 2018 ένα ερευνητικό έργο από το Ελληνικό Ίδρυμα Έρευνας και Καινοτομίας (ΕΛΙΔΕΚ). Τα ερευνητικά του ενδιαφέροντα επικεντρώνονται στην φλοιϊκή πλαστικότητα, στην αντίληψη της μουσικής και τις διαταραχές της, καθώς και στην πολυαισθητηριακή ενοποίηση, ενώ σαν βασικά ερευνητικά εργαλεία χρησιμοποιεί την Μαγνητοεγκεφαλογραφία και την Ηλεκτροεγκεφαλογραφία. Έχει δημοσιεύσει 30 άρθρα σε διεθνή επιστημονικά περιοδικά με κριτές, όπως το Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS), το Journal of Neuroscience, το Cerebral Cortex κ.α. Έχει δημοσιεύσει επίσης 3 κεφάλαια σε βιβλία και έχει παραπάνω από 35 συμμετοχές σε διεθνή συνέδρια. Έχει εργαστεί από το 2014 έως το 2020 ως επιστημονικός συνεργάτης και επιστημονικός υπεύθυνος ερευνητικών έργων στο Εργαστήριο Ιατρικής Φυσικής του Αριστοτέλειου Πανεπιστημίου Θεσσαλονίκης καθώς και ως λέκτορας στο κολλέγιο City – an international faculty of the University of Sheffield. Από το 2020 εργάζεται ως Λέκτορας Ψυχολογίας στο Τμήμα Ψυχολογίας του Πανεπιστημίου Κύπρου.

Profile Information

Dr. Evangelos Paraskevopoulos completed his bachelor and master studies in the psychology department of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (A.U.TH.). At the same time, he studied music theory and received a music diploma in Harmony, Counterpoint and Fugue. He then moved in Muenster, Germany to perform his PhD in cognitive neurosciences and Magnetoencephalography in the Institute for Biomagnetism and Biosignalanalysis with Prof. Dr. Christo Pantev as supervisor. He completed his PhD in 2013 receiving a Summa Cum Laude. In 2011 he received an award in the young neuroscientist poster competition “NeuroVisionen 8“ by the NeuroNRW - Ministry of Innovation, Science and Research of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany and a postdoctoral research fellowship from A.U.TH. (Excellence). In 2017 he received a post-doctoral research fellowship from the Foundation of State Fellowships of Greece (IKY) and in 2018 a post-doc research grant from the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation. His research interests focus on cortical plasticity, music perception (disorders) and multisensory integration, while his basic research tools include Magnetoencephalography and Electroencephalography. He has more than 30 published papers in international refereed journals, such as the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS), the Journal of Neuroscience, the Cerebral Cortex etc. He has also published 3 book chapters and more than 35 contributions in international conferences with posters and talks. He worked as a postdoctoral research associate and principal investigator in the laboratory of medical physics in AUTH, and a part time lecturer in the Psychology department of the City College, an international faculty of the University of Sheffield. He currently holds a lecturer position in the Department of Psychology, University of Cyprus.
