Co-excavator and responsible for the publication of the metal artifacts from the site, that date from the Minoan down to the Roman periods.

Area supervisor at the excavation and responsible for the publication of various finds from the site.

ΕΡΕΥΝΗΤΙΚΆ ΠΡΟΓΡΆΜΑΤΑ

Enkomi: a site at the forefront of technological innovation in metallurgy and artistic excellence in metalwork. Project funded by the Research Committee of the University of Cyprus for 2017-2018.

This is an interdisciplinary attempt to approach Late Bronze Age metallurgy and metalwork in Cyprus, focusing on archaeometallurgical material and metal artefacts from Enkomi, one of the most important Cypriot sites, and perhaps the main port of export of Cypriot copper. The site has delivered many finds associated with metallurgy, such as metallurgical installations, slag, tools, crucibles, moulds, etc, as well as a large number of bronze artefacts. The typology and sources of inspiration of these artefacts, their technology, as well as the patterns of their deposition in various contexts and their distribution within and beyond the island, will be extensively studied, using a combination of archaeological and interdisciplinary methods (such as GIS analysis and p-XRF for the chemical characterisation of metal objects). This project will provide access to the history of an inaccessible site, as Enkomi lies, since 1974, in the occupied territory of the island.

Corpus Vasorum Antiquorum, Cyprus Museums:

Preparing the publication of the Greek Geometric pottery found on Cyprus as a fascicule of CVA. The project Corpus Vasorum Antiquorum (CVA), the oldest project under the patronage of the Union Académique International, has as its aim to publish, in the form of fascicules of texts and of plates, ceramic vessels surviving from Classical Antiquity, and preserved in the different national collections of the countries involved in the project. Directed by the Académie des Inscriptions et Belles-Lettres (J. de La Genière, since 2002).

Multi-disciplinary Project for the analysis of metal artefacts from Cyprus from the Chalcolithic to the Roman era (2006-Present):

European Programme “PEOPLE” (Call identifier: FP7-PEOPLE-2010-ITN): NARNIA: New Archaeological Research Network for Integrating Approaches to ancient material studies (2010-):

Member of the team representing Cyprus. Co-ordinated by the University of Cyprus, Archaeological research Unit. This project encourages the collaboration between the private and academic sectors for the training of young researchers in the integration of traditional archaeological approaches and newly developed scientific techniques to the study of ancient materials. For this purpose, a well- structured research network consisting of six universities, two private companies and a research institute has been developed, which aims to improve the career prospects of employment for young researchers, developing their lab-based skills in the study of ancient materials, while contributing to the history and archaeology of the Eastern Mediterranean basin, a region of great historical, cultural and geo-political significance.

European Programme Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency - Unit Culture, Αction 2007: "Witness the past: education programs for the public and CH professionals on illicit trafficking of antiquities" (2009-present):

Member of the team representing Cyprus. Co-ordinated by the Technological Educational Foundation of Athens. The aim of this project is the development of an educational program for museums, intended especially for children, which will bring them inform them on the importance of scientific excavations for the protection and preservation of cultural heritage, as well as inform them on the losses effected by illicit excavations.

COST-ACTION A27 (2004 –2007):

Member of the team representing Cyprus in Action A27, in the Program “Understanding pre-industrial structures in rural and mining landscapes”, initiated and funded by the European Union. This project aimed at the creation of a European Database of testimonies related to pre-industrial structures in rural and mining landscapes, in order to record the losses of cultural heritage and to preserve its remaining part.

Project “Digital map of Palaepaphos” (2002-2005):

The aim of this research project is to create a digital map of the area of the ancient kingdom of Palaepaphos with the help of GIS, by determining the exact location of the ancient monuments of the area using a high precision GPS. Project “Advanced technologies for the management and the promotion of the cultural heritage” (2000-2002):

Program initiated within the framework of the Protocol of Scientific and Technological Cooperation between Cyprus and Greece for 2000-2002.  The Greek members of the program were the Institute of Mediterranean Studies, FORTH, the Greek Archaeometry Society and the company Thetis Authentics. European Teaming Project “Eastern Mediterranean Science and Technology Centre for Archaeology and Cultural Heritage” (acronym MedSTACH).

This project aims to establish Cyprus as an excellence hub in archaeology and cultural heritage in the Eastern Mediterranean region, based on multidisciplinary research and technological innovation. To this end, key Cypriot public academic institutions and national policy makers and stakeholders are teaming up with leading international research and academic institutions to lay the groundwork towards creating this Centre of Excellence, which, if successful, will be funded by the EU and the Republic of Cyprus.
