Rea Georgiou
Rea Georgiou – Accountant General at Treasury of the Republic of Cyprus
Rea Georgiou (FCA, BA Economics) is the Accountant General of the Republic since 3/11/2010, a post that is specified in the Constitution, managing and supervising all accounting operations and executing all of the financial transactions of the government. The Treasury of the Republic is also the competent Authority on Public Procurement in Cyprus. Rea Georgiou is leading the Public Financial Management of the Public Sector. Mrs Georgiou is, among others, the President of the Provident Fund of the Permanent Government Hourly-paid Employees, the Cyprus Children Fund Committee and Treasurer of the Independent Social Support Body, the President of the Cyprus Public Audit Oversight Authority and the Director of Lotteries. She served as President of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus.
Lenia Iacovides
Lenia Iacovides – Director, Great Place to Work Cyprus
Lenia Iacovides graduated from English School and has a degree in Economics. She worked in London with Moore Stephens, where she qualified as a Chartered Accountant. She specializes in the field of channel development, and linking personnel performance to business strategy. She has a 35-year long experience and expertise in global multinational organizations in diverse markets across Europe, Middle East and Africa and is a valued asset in the Board of Directors of Great Place To Work® Cyprus, an affiliate of a global network. She worked as Emerging Markets Director for multi-national companies (NCR, AT&T, Gateway) helping them grow their market share and develop their presence in SEEMEA (South-Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa), from few or no representatives in the region into multi-million Dollar operations. She is a co-Founder and Managing Director of interFRONTIERS, a company which successfully helps to establish multi-national companies in emerging markets and works with them to grow their market presence.
Miltos Kambourides
Miltos Kambourides - Founder and Managing Partner, Dolphin Capital Partners
Miltos Kambourides is the Founder and Managing Partner of Dolphin Capital Partners (DCP or Dolphin), founded in 2004 and specialized in real estate investments and developments. Miltos was previously a founding partner of Soros Real Estate Partners, a global real estate private equity business, formed in 1999 by George Soros. Prior to joining Soros, he worked at Goldman Sachs’ Real Estate Principal Investments team. In 1998, he received a Goldman Sachs Global Innovation Award. He holds three degrees from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT): BS and MS in Mechanical Engineering and BS in Mathematics and was a recipient of Fulbright and other scholarships. He has received several business and academic honours and participated twice in the International Math Olympiad and once in the Balkan Math Olympiad (bronze medalist). He is a co-Founder of a number of ventures including Enthoosia. He travels extensively and has visited so far 139 countries/territories, including the geographical North Pole and Antarctica.
Takis Klerides
Takis Klerides – Chairman, Logicom Group; Chairman, Cyprus Economy and Competitiveness Council
Takis Klerides has been the Chairman of Logicom since October 2018 and a member of the Board of Directors since 2003. Having originally worked with international accounting firms in the UK, he joined KPMG Metaxas Loizides Syrimis in Cyprus in 1977 and specialised in banking, finance and insurance. Mr Klerides became a partner at KPMG in 1982 and remained in this position until 1999 when he was appointed Minister of Finance of the Republic of Cyprus (1999-2003). During his term as Minister of Finance, he was instrumental in the harmonisation of Cyprus legislation with the European Union and a major Tax Reform that introduced low corporate and personal taxes. Mr Klerides is a member of various Boards of public and private companies in Cyprus and overseas, as well as of charitable organisations. He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) of the UK and member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (ICPA). Since April 2013, Mr Klerides has been the Executive Chairman of business advisory company CMK Eurofinance Consultants Ltd and is a director of a number of companies in Cyprus and abroad.
Symeon Kassianides
Symeon Kassianides – Chairman and CEO, Hyperion Systems Engineering Group
Dr. Symeon Kassianidis is the Founder, President and CEO of Hyperion Systems Engineering Group. Dr. Cassianidis holds a PhD and a diploma in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine of London (UK) and a BSc in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) of United States. Dr. Symeon Kassianides is an experienced CEO and Board Member with a demonstrated history of over 20 years working in Project execution, Process Industries, Technology and the Education Management industries. Strong business development professional skilled in Business Process, Business Planning, Operations Management, Analytical Skills, and International Business.
Rena Rouvitha Panou
Rena Rouvitha Panou – Chairman, Cyprus Telecommunications Authority (Cyta)
Rena Rouvitha Panou obtained the B.Sc. Economics degree from The London School of Economics (Metcalfe Scholar), the M.Phil. Economics degree from the University of Cambridge and the Master of Science in Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Fulbright Scholar). Between 1984 and 1991 she held executive positions in management consulting/financial services firms based in Boston, USA (Siar Bossard and Agribusiness Associates). Between 1991 and 2006 she worked at Laiki Group (associate bank of HSBC) where she held, among others, the positions of Group Divisional Director, Group General Manager (International & Treasury) and Managing Director Laiki Bank Hellas. Rouvitha Panou was appointed Chairman of The Cyprus Development Bank, as well as its Russian banking subsidiary (2008-2014). She was a Member of the Board of Directors of Vassiliko Cement Works Public Company in Cyprus (2012-2014) and an Independent Non-Executive Director of the Boards of Alpha Bank Cyprus (2015-2016), Alpha Leasing in Greece (2014-2020) and Alpha Bank Romania (2014- 2020). Currently, Rouvitha Panou holds positions of Chairman, Management Committee of the Pensions & Grants Fund of the Personnel of Cyta; Independent Non-Executive Director, Eurobank Holdings and Eurobank S.A in Greece; Board Member, Audit and Nomination Committees.
Michael Sarris
Michael Sarris – Former Minister of Finance of the Republic of Cyprus (2005-2008)
Michael Sarris studied Economics at the London School of Economics (BSc, 1967) and received his Doctorate from Wayne State University in the USA (1972). From 1972 to 1975 he worked at the Central Bank of Cyprus and the Bank of Cyprus. In 1975, he joined the World Bank where he covered a broad range of sectors in Africa, Latin America and East Asia and retired in 2004 as a Department Director. In September 2005, was appointed Minister of Finance, serving until the change in government in March 2008. From January to August 2012, he was Chairman of the Board of Directors of Marlin Popular Bank, and in March 2013 became again Minister of Finance for a brief period to negotiate Cyprus’s adjustment program. Since then, he has been lecturing and consulting.
Demetris Vakis
Demetris Vakis – Board Member, Head of Family Business KPMG in Cyprus
Demetris holds a BSc. in Computer Science and Accounting (Joint Honours) and is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (ICPAC). He serves on KPMG’s Executive Committee and heads KPMG’s Markets which encompasses marketing and sales support. He has extensive experience both in Audit and in Advisory. He is the president of the Council of ICPAC and one of the four vice-presidents of the Board of the Employers and Industrialists Federation of Cyprus (OEB). Also, he is the President of the Cyprus-Hungary Business Association and a member of the Cyprus Institute of Internal Auditors of Cyprus. Demetris also serves on the Board of the Tech Faculty of the ICAEW.
Alexis Photiades
Alexis Photiades – Managing Director, Photos Photiades Group
Alexis Photiades graduated in 1991 from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Economics (Major) and Computer Science (Minor). He was honored twice with the title “Scholar Athlete” for his great achievements both in the academic and the athletic field. A year after his graduation he entered the MBA Program of MIT Sloan School of Management with scholarship where he got his Masters in 1992.In 1992 he took charge of the Management of Eurocyprus Ltd, a company delivering food in Bulgaria. From 1997 until today he holds the position of Managing Director of the company Photos Photiades Group.
