KEY ACTION 1 - STUDENT MOBILITY FOR STUDIES AND OTHER STUDENT EXCHANGES
ACADEMIC YEAR 2019-2020
INFORMATION FOR INCOMING EXCHANGE STUDENTS
|All incoming students wishing to come to the University of Cyprus with the Erasmus+ programme or in the framework of other cooperation agreements must be OFFICIALLY NOMINATED by their home universities.|
|A valid Erasmus+ Interinstitutional agreement or other Exchange Cooperation Agreement (either interinstitutional or interdepartmental) must exist for the academic year 2019-2020, between the student's home university and the University of Cyprus in the relevant subject area.|
OFFICIAL NOMINATION PROCEDURE
The nomination e-mail must include the following information for the student:
DATE OF BIRTH
PERIOD OF STAY (1ST SEMESTER, 2ND SEMESTER, WHOLE ACADEMIC YEAR)
VALID STUDENT E-MAIL ADDRESS
LEVEL OF STUDIES: 1ST, 2ND OR 3RD CYCLE
HOME DEPARTMENT AND SUBJECT AREA
RECEIVING DEPARTMENT AT THE UNIVERSITY OF CYPRUS ACCORDING TO THE AGREEMENT
|In the case of non Erasmus exchange students please also mention the agreement under which the student is nominated.|
|Please note that all the above data is compulsory: if one of them is missing the nomination of the students will not be proceeded.|
|After nomination the students receive by e-mail a link with all the information on application procedures and deadlines.|
APPLICATION PROCEDURES AND DEADLINES
|Erasmus+ Exchange application documents or application documents concerning exchanges outside Erasmus must arrive at the University of Cyprus Mobility Support Staff by May 20th for students coming the 1st semester or the whole academic year and October 20th for students coming the 2nd semester|
|Accommodation applications are handled on a "first comes, first served basis" in case the number of applications exceed the number of available rooms.
The deadline for the receipt of accommodation applications is the 15th June 2019 for the 1st semester and the 15th November 2019 for the 2nd semester.

|LANGUAGE POLICY FOR INCOMING STUDENTS|
|The language of teaching at the University is Greek. Most departments offer some courses in English. Other Departments may offer bibliography, assignments, tutorials and exams in English. Incoming students are advised to attend free of charge the Greek intensive courses offered during the year at the School of Modern Greek of the University.|
|RECOGNITION OF COURSES|
|Incoming students and their home university receive an original Transcript of Records with all the subjects, corresponding ECTS credits and grades that were achieved during the exchange period.|

GREEK LANGUAGE COURSES DURING THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2019-2020
The courses of the Greek Language are offered at the School of Modern Greek of the University of Cyprus.
The School of Modern Greek offers courses in the Greek Language free of charge for the Erasmus students.
There are 2 types of courses:
13 week intensive courses:
These courses are running twice a year throughout the semesters. There are two courses: One running from
September to Decemberand one running from January to April. These courses are offered at all levels.
26 weeks non intensive course:
This course is running throughout the academic year.
ERASMUS+ STUDENT EXCHANGES APPLICATION DOCUMENTS
|All students wishing to apply for an Erasmus study period at the University of Cyprus must send the following documents duly completed and signed within the specified deadines for each semester:|
|1 Erasmus+ Application form|
|2 Erasmus+ Learning Agreement|
|3 Recent Transcript of Records from home university|
|4 Official proof of knowledge of English (e.g. IELTS, IGCSE, TOEFL etc)|
|5 In the case of 2nd or 3rd cycle students a copy of the Bachelor's degree must also be attached.|
FOR STUDENT EXCHANGES (OUTSIDE THE ERASMUS PROGRAMME)
PLEASE USE THE FOLLOWING APPLICATION DOCUMENTS
|A recent Transcript of Records from home university and an official proof of knowledge of English (e.g. IELTS, IGCSE, TOEFL etc) must also be sent. In the case of 2nd or 3rd cycle students a copy of the Bachelor's degree must also be attached .|

|Erasmus events are organized in coordination with the International Students Club of the University of Cyprus which was formed mainly by former
Erasmus students of the University of Cyprus and ESN Nicosia. These events include parties, lectures, walk in divided Nicosia, participation in Limassol Carnival parade etc
