Quantum Future Academy
A Pan-European, one-week school on quantum technologies to take place in Berlin Germany, November 1-7 2020. (https://www.quantentechnologien.de/event/quantum-future-academy-2020.html).
60 students selected at the national level from across Europe will participate in this academy with all expenses covered (travel, accomodation and local activities).
 
Who is eligible to apply at the national level
University students in natural sciences or engineering who are beginning their fourth year of undergraduate studies or beginning their Masters studies and are enrolled in a Cypriot University. Basic knowledge of quantum mechanics is required. Good knowledge of English is required.
 
Selection process
Two students from Cyprus will be selected.

Stage 1: Preselection based on the following mandatory submissions:
CV, current transcript of grades from University institution, letter of motivation explaining the applicant’s interest in the Academy.
The CV and letter of motivation must be written in English (deadline July 22nd).

Stage 2: A selection of applicants from Stage 1 will be asked to pick a topic related to quantum technology and to present / discuss this topic to an academic committee in a workshop in September.

More details about this workshop will be sent by email to the selected applicants.

The academy is hosted by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) in cooperation with Ferdinand-Braun-Institut, Leibniz-Institut für Höchstfrequenztechnik (FBH) and Humboldt- Universität zu Berlin. The initiative is supported by the European Quantum Flagship Initiative of the European Commission. The Cyprus national competition is organized and co-sponsored by the Department of Physics of the University of Cyprus and the Cyprus Research and Innovation Foundation.
