According to the program of study in terms of ECTS, for the acquisition of a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering or a B.S. degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering the minimum number of ECTS units is 240 (133 cu). Out of these 240 ECTS units, at least 15 ECTS units (9 cu) should be elective courses (not included in the student's specialization), which should be taken from two different faculties of the University of Cyprus, while 10 ECTS units (6 cu) should be taken from the program of Foreign Language.

During the first two years, the program of study is structured to provide students with a rigorous body of knowledge in mathematics, physics, and mechanics that is essential in achieving a deep understanding of more advanced Civil and Environmental Engineering topics. In the third year the students receive training in more advanced and applied topics in Civil and Environmental Engineering. In the fourth year, students have the flexibility to select elective courses from a variety of civil and environmental courses according to their individual interests. In addition, the fourth year also includes an undergraduate thesis, whose topic can be chosen from a variety of categories in the civil or environmental engineering areas. The selection of the elective courses and the topic of the thesis define the B.S. degree that is awarded to the student.

The B.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering is awarded only if sufficient ECTS units are accumulated from elective courses of the fourth year of studies related to environmental engineering and an undergraduate thesis with an environmental-related topic is completed. Otherwise, the B.S. in Civil Engineering is awarded to a graduate of the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department.
