The Department's subject areas are ancient Greek and Latin languages and literatures from the origins up to the end of antiquity, and Philosophy from its Greek origins up to the present. The language of instruction is Greek. The Department offers two degrees:

  • Degree in Classics
  • Degree in Philosophy

It also offers Minors in both Classics and Philosophy. At the graduate level, the Department offers the Degrees of Master of Arts (MA) and of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.), both applicable to Classical Studies only.

Currently, the Department has 9 faculty members, but the academic team is strengthened through temporary appointments.
