I graduated from Nicolas Copernicus University in Torun, Poland with the degree of Master of Arts in the field of Philology of the English Language and Literature. My master thesis concentrated on the area of Cognitive Linguistics, conceptualization in particular. Moreover, I have completed a two-year-course in Pedagogy (including methodology, psychology, and classroom interaction) at the same University.
For the past ten years I have been working in the Language Centre at the University of Cyprus as a Special Scientists.
My academic interests lie in the field of Cognitive Linguistics, Cognitive Semantics and Cognitive Grammar in particular, with special emphasis on metaphor and metonymy as cognitive processes and their function in everyday speech. Additionally, I am interested in how cognitive theories could be implemented in a teaching environment, EFL classroom in particular.
