Studies in History and Archaeology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (1996-2000), where I completed my MA studies (2000-2003) in Modern and Contemporary Greek History and subsequently I was awarded with honors my doctoral title (PhD) in Modern Greek History for a thesis titled “The Greek Diaspora in Romania. The case study of the Greek paroikia of Braila (c. 1820-1914).”
I taught history of Central and Southeastern Europe at the Ionion University (two semesters, 2016-2017, 2017-2018),  history of Eastern and Southeastern Europe at the University of Ioannina (2017 spring semester) and historical geography of the Black Sea (modern and contemporary period) at the International Hellenic University (2012-2016). I have participated in many international research projects and worked as an external researcher at the Institute for Historical Research/National Hellenic Research Foundation (2014-2015).

PARTICIPATION/COLLABORATION WITH PAST OR ONGOING RESEARCH PROJECTS

08/2017 in progress:    Research program funded by the Hellenic Parliament Institution for Parliamentarism and Democracy: Composition of a monograph on the Austrian maritime politics during the Greek Revolution. Co-director with professor emeritus Olga Kartsiardi- Hering.

17/11/2014 – 16/11/2015:  External collaborator at the National Hellenic Research Foundation/ Institute of Historical Research for the research project Kripis/Kyrtou Plegmata.

01/2013 – 12/2016:    Member of the international and inter-university research program: The Black Sea and its port-cities 1774-1914. The program was headed by the Ionion University in cooperation with the University of Crete, the Hellenic Research Foundation and the Institute of Mediterranean Studies, the University of Thessaly and the University of the Aegean.

01/2013 – 01/2015:    Participation in the Research Program: Thessaloniki during the Economic Crisis era (1929-1936), under the supervision of assistant professor Eleftheria Manta (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki).

01/09/2011– 30/06/2012:  Researcher – Co-director for the study, cataloguing and web dissemination of the historical archive of the Charitable Brotherhood of Thessaloniki.  (Φιλοπτώχος Αδελφότης Ανδρών Θεσσαλονίκης (ΦΑΑΘ)).

07/2009 - 04/2011:     Member of the Greek research team for the “Rhigas Velestinlis”  permanent exhibition, at the Nebojša Tower, Belgrade Serbia. The program was under the auspices of the European Centre for Byzantine and Post-Byzantine Monuments.

3/2007 – 03/2008:  Researcher for the Foundation of the Hellenic World. Edited various entries for on-line encyclopedias of Asia Minor, Black Sea and Constantinople.

01/2005 – 03/2008:  Researcher for the Greek-Romanian research project “Works of Greek sculptors and sculptures concerning Greeks in Romania. (Harokopeion University in Athens-School for Archival Studies Bucharest).he research was supervised by Professor Evanghelia Georgitsoyanni.

01/2005 – 12/2005:   Participation in the research program Pythagoras II, organized by the Department of History and Archaeology, University of Athens: Greek communities and the European World (13th -19th century). Forms of self-government, social organization, formation of identities. The research was supervised by Professors: Olga Katsiardi-Hering, Anastasia Papadia-Lala and Maria Efthymiou. The research included the study of all types of Greek collective bodies (communities, associations, confraternities) in Romania.
